What is to be done with the piece of wasteland on Brunswick Road in Handsworth, Birmingham?

Opposite where I live is a massive piece of greenland. The Birmingham City Council currently own the land. It has been stated by a few residents that this land once used to be home to a row of houses. Today, the land is now home to a massive green, wasteland. What we want to find out is if anything is going to be done with the land, past, present and future plans.
